FAQ's

1. Where is the festival held?

The festival is held in the beautiful setting of the Healesville Amateur Racing Club. 109 Healesville-Kinglake Road, Healesville (our entrance is opposite the RACV club).

2. What time does it start and finish?

The music all kicks off at 5.30 pm on Friday 14th April through until midnight. Saturday from 9am - midnight and Sunday 16th April from 9am until 6pm.

3. Is the festival family friendly? Are children's tickets really FREE?

This is a festival for the whole family! Children 13 years old and younger receive free festival entry and camping when accompanied by a ticketed adult. The kids have their own venue 'Little Joe's' that will be running concerts, circus activities, book reading and dancing on Saturday and Sunday. It's also a space for parents and kids to chill out away from the licensed areas.

Please be aware that we have a deep, fast flowing creek that runs alongside the festival site and keep your children away from the water. No child minding is available at the festival, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times in accordance with our Child Safe Policy. Any unaccompanied children found at the festival site will be taken to the festival director who will contact police if parents or guardians are not located within a short period of time.

4. I'm camping / glamping - what time can I check in? Are there allocated/powered sites/showers/toilets? Can I bring my RV or palace on wheels?

Campers can check in with our festival office from midday on Friday the 12th and each day afterwards from 9am. Campers must have a festival ticket also.

There are no allocated sites - we have loads of flat, grassy space for your tent or camper trailer etc.

There is no power to the camping area but you'll have access to power points around the festival site.

There will be a shower and toilet truck in the campsite and ample toilets in the festival marquee area.

5. Can I bring my dog, cat or pony?

We love our dogs too but it is a condition of our lease of the Racecourse that we don't allow dogs onsite. We have some great accommodation options in the Valley for your furkid. We especially like www.yarravalleypetresort.com.au

6. Is the festival accessible for everyone?

We pride ourselves on being a festival that is welcoming of everyone of all ages and abilities. All of our festival venues are on level ground with limited seating available. We have an all abilities toilet and parking that is close to the entrance will be available for our patrons with disability parking stickers.

7. Concession tickets / Companion Cards accepted?

YES! Concession card holders of all types will receive $10 off their ticket price (must be purchased at the festival office and you'll need to present your card also). Companion Cards are welcomed.

8. Can I BYO alcohol or food?

BYO alcohol is not permitted. The festival is licensed and the festival bar will be selling locally produced beer and wine. We'll also have a couple of boutique wine producers specially showcasing their wines for the festival. Water will be available across the festival area. You can bring in your own food but we'll also have some great food options available for you to enjoy across the weekend. Vegetarians, Vegans, GF and carnivores will all have something yummy to choose from.

Please remember to bring your refillable bottle as there will not be any single use water bottles sold at the festival. (We're committed to reducing our festival landfill footprint - last year our brilliant patrons refilled their bottles over and over saving hundreds of plastic bottles from going in to landfill).

9. Can I bring my pushbike / pram into the festival?

Absolutely! It's a pretty large festival site and a pushy will be a great way to get around, particularly for the kids. Keep your speed down, be mindful of everyone walking and don't forget your bike lock.

There's plenty of room in the venues for prams too and lot's of quiet spots if your little one just needs a break.

10. I only want to see one particular band, why can't I just buy a ticket to see them?

Yeah, I'm sorry but it's because we're a festival not a pub. It would be impossible for us to control the ticketing across 3 venues and hundreds of patrons. There are lots of ticketing options for you - All 3 days - just Friday - Saturday 9am to midnight or Sunday 9am to 6pm. And here's the bonus. You're going to see other bands that you'll probably love. Every single act booked to perform at the festival are incredible. Yes, all of them.

11. Will there be any security personnel at the festival?

We will have some friendly security personnel on site during the festival and they'll be patrolling overnight also. We're not expecting any trouble but it won't be tolerated if it does occur. We are a beautiful, friendly festival for families and all ages alike. If you're looking for a festival to get completely smashed at and then cause a bit of trouble with your mates, then we are not the festival for you. In fact Healesville is not even the town for you.

12. How many venues are there?

We will have 3 venues running at various times over the weekend. Our main venue is The Monda Muse, Juliet's is our more acoustic venue and Little Joe's is where our kids entertainment and workshops will be held.

13. What if it rains? What about Code Red fire danger days? What if the dreaded C-19 rears up?

We love a sunny festival but we plan for a wet one. All of our venues are fully undercover and weather proof marquees. If it's really sunny we'll open up the sides for everyone.

If a Code Red fire danger day is declared then the festival will not go ahead on that day. Healesville is a beautiful place because of the mountains and the trees but it's also what makes it a dangerous place to be during a fire. We wont' be taking any chances and will be guided by our local CFA and police.

We will abide by all state government regulations with regard to Covid-19. Your ticket will be valid for entry to the festival in the event we have to reschedule.

14. Do you have WiFi?

No. Plenty of great music, beautiful views to the mountains and awesome people though. Don't worry your phone will still get reception.

15. I can't make it now, can I get a refund?

It's currently the festival's position that all sales are final. No refunds or exchanges will be available unless the Festival is cancelled due to Covid 19 restrictions, or is rescheduled and you do not wish to attend the alternative date. Get in touch if you'd like to discuss it further -  info@healesvillemusicfestival.com.au
