Workshops
The workshops, which will be held upstairs at The Memo, are free to all ticket holders or $10 each to non ticket holders. So, come along to participate, learn and have fun.



11.00 am - 12.00 noon Singing - ‘Matching voice to audience’
Learning how to utilise the entire palette of your vocal range enables you to make choices appropriate for any given situation from a presentation to a cold call. Penny & Carl will work on breath, resonance and articulation all in a fully supported (and still fun!) environment. Statistics show that singing is great for your health and well-being too... (Suitable for all levels)

Learn tips and tricks for honing your bluegrass guitar skills with one of the best. 2013 Australian Youth Bluegrass Scholarship recipient Daniel Watkins has worked nationally and internationally alongside renowned bands: The Davidson Brothers, Chris Henry (US), Pete Denahy, One Up Two Down and John Flanagan to name a few

1.30 pm - 2.30 pm Intermediate Ukulele - 'Cowboys & Wahines'
Songs from Nashville To Waikiki. Join Sarah as she takes a spin through the great swing music of the 20th century! Hawaii and the USA have influenced each other hugely since the Portuguese vaqueros introduced guitar and ukulele to the islands. Six songs guaranteed to make you the life of any campfire singalong!

2.45 pm - 3.45 pm Harmony Singing - 'O Winding River'
'O Winding River’ Harmony Workshop is grounded in the rich tradition of old timey and Appalachian harmony-driven folk music, with Nad & John leading the participants to join The Stetson Family onstage in a performance guaranteed to fill the air with sweet, sweet sounds.

Come and get some tips from one of Australia's finest songwriters who has released 9 albums of original songs over 15 years, including the award winning 'Bagarap Empires' and the highly acclaimed 'Dust Of Uruzgan'
Fred explains what makes great songs work, then takes you through the process: how to start, how to keep going, and how to finish a song!
